The annual Youth Appreciation dinner allows Optimists to build the self-esteem of area youth by showing them that their efforts and hard work really do pay off and make a difference. Students from Fairbury, Diller-Odell, Tri-County, Meridan and Thayer Central are nominated by their school counselor for recognition of their dedication to themselves through their improvement in their school work, over coming adversity and general positive attitude.
